Breweries

Appalachian Mountain Brewing

The first brewery to ever call Boone NC home, AMB’s prime location a mere five minutes from downtown has made it a must-see for beer lovers who visit the NC High Country.

Banner Elk Winery

Banner Elk Winery & Villa is the jewel of the High Country, in an idyllic setting with luxurious accommodations for discerning travelers. Nestled in the awe inspiring majestic Blue Ridge Mountains stands North Carolina High Country’s original winery. Come for a tasting or tour, or stay for a week at The Villa. The Villa is a private retreat, with luxury accommodations, beautiful scenery, warm hospitality in an idyllic setting.

Beech Mountain Brewing

Nestled in the village of Beech Mountain Resort, which offers year-round activities ranging from skiing to downhill mountain biking, the unique brewery provides the perfect atmosphere to relax after a long day of fun in the mountains.

Blowing Rock Brewing

Just 8 miles south of Boone, in the historic town of Blowing Rock, you’ll find the Blowing Rock Brewing Company’s Ale House. Many of Blowing Rock Brewery’s beers have won awards from the Carolina Championships of Beer, such as their Midnight Raspberry Wheat Ale and Grandfather Breakfast Stout.

Booneshine Brewing Co.

Enjoy a meal in our full-service restaurant/tasting room, or a beer and a quick bite from our food truck in the largest outdoor beer garden in the High Country. The Booneshine Brewing Company is one of the larger breweries on this list. But that certainly hasn’t stopped them from staying true to their small batch brews and community-based roots. It’s arguably one of the best spots in Boone to wind down after a long day of adventure, no matter what time of year you may choose to visit.

Grandfather Vineyard and Winery

Grandfather Vineyard & Winery is located in the heart of the Appalachian High Country, nestled in between Banner Elk & Boone. The rich history firmly rooted in family is the pride of Grandfather Vineyard, matched only by our wine, of course. Drink local and pay a visit to our tasting room. The Tatum family would love to meet you!

Kettell Beerworks

Inspired by the crisp mountain water sources and Banner Elk’s high country setting, Kettell Beerworks began serving high quality craft beer and food. But some of our favorites include their Vonderbier, a contemporary Munich-style lager, and their Supernova IPA, which is brewed to have low bitterness and hoppy fruit flavors with muted hints of mandarin oranges, apricot, and mango.

Lost Province Brewing Company

With their humorous names and poppy style, it can be a daunting task to choose just a few Lost Province brews to sample. But the hazy and flavorful Hipster Juice IPA is always at the top of our list. This hazy, bright yellow, New England-style IPA is dry-hopped twice with Citra, El Dorado, and Mosaic hops to produce a rainbow of pineapple, passion fruit, and mango flavors.

New River Brewing

New River Brewing was conceived in 2016 and founded in 2017 by father and son home brewers, Greg and Adam Hershner. We began quite small but with a big goal, to disrupt the local market by creating fresh, innovative craft beers in Ashe County North Carolina.
