All sites are limited to a certain number of people. All site rates include 2 guests. Additional guests for Tent and RV Camping are $8 per person, per night. Children 6-12 years are $5 per person, per night.
Additional guests 6 years and older for Cabin and
Stargazer Dome Rental are $10 per person, per night.
Children 5 years and under are free.

Cancellation Policy:
PLEASE READ

 RV - CABIN - STARGAZER DOME
If a cancellation is made prior to 10 days of the scheduled check-in date, a refund will be issued minus a $15 administrative fee.
The guest is responsible for the full amount of the reservation 10 days prior to the scheduled arrival date.
A refund will not be offered 10 days or less of the arrival date. There are no exceptions for weather.
Rain checks are not available for RV- Cabin or Stargazer Dome rentals
TENT CAMPING
The cancellation period for tent camping is 5 days. If a cancellation is made more than 5 days of the scheduled arrival date, a refund will be issued, minus a $15 administrative fee.
The guest is responsible for the full amount of the reservation 5 days prior to the arrival date. A refund will not be offered 5 days or less of the arrival date. There are no exceptions for weather.
GROUP CAMPING
The cancellation policy for groups reserving 3 or more sites is 30 days and require a 50% non refundable deposit.

Firewood

Outside firewood cannot be brought onto Blue Bear Mountain Camp property due to the spread of insects and disease. Firewood is available for purchase on site.
Campfires are limited to the fire rings provided.
Fires are not to be left unattended and must be extinguished before leaving the site.
Only burn wood that will fit inside the fire ring.
Please, No Trash in the fire ring.

Land Management

Leave No Trace:
1. Plan ahead and prepare.
2. Travel and camp on durable surfaces.
3 .Dispose of waste properly.
4.Leave what you find.
5. Minimize campfire impact.
6.Respect wildlife.
7. Be considerate of other campers.

Cutting, chopping or damage of any kind to trees and plants, large or small, is strictly forbidden.
No removal of plants, trees or rocks.
Digging is not allowed.
Do not dismantle the rock fire rings.
Do not pour out candle wax.
Stay on marked trails.
Pick up your trash and dispose of properly.
LEAVE YOUR SITE TRASH AND DAMAGE FREE, LIKE YOU FOUND IT!
FINES FOR VIOLATIONS WILL BE IMPOSED.

Pets!

Pets on a leash are welcome. We ask that you clean up after your pet, do not leave them unattended and digging is not allowed.
Pets are not allowed inside the bath house or on the furniture in the Cabin and Stargazer Domes.

STARGAZER DOMES/CABIN RULES

Units are non-smoking These are eco-friendly units. We ask that you consider limiting your water and electric use and do not request a sheet change unless your stay is longer than one week.

- Pets are not allowed on the furniture and are not to be left unattended.
- No open flame of any sort, (candles, gas lanterns, etc.) are not allowed inside the units.
- No Smoking in the Bath House, Stargazer Dome or Cabin.

CHECK IN/CHECK OUT TIMES

Check In for Cabin and Stargazer Dome Rental is 3:00 pm. Check out is 11:00 am.
Check in for Tent and RV camping is 1:00 pm. Check out is 11:00 am.
Please call 828-406-4226 to arrange a later check in time, after 10:00 pm May-October, After 6:00 pm November-April.
All guests must check in at the camp office upon arrival.
By making a reservation at Blue Bear Mountain Camp, guests agree to abide by all rules and policies of Blue Bear Mountain Camp.

Blue Bear Mountain Camp reserves to right to move your reservation to a different site when deemed necessary by management.
A 4 wheel drive vehicle is highly recommended and often required during winter months.

FAQs

Do you have full hookups for RVs:
We do not have water and sewer at the sites. We have a water fill up station and a free dump station.

1. Do you have Wi-Fi:
We do not have Wi-Fi.

2. Is there a minimum night stay required:
A three night minimum stay is required for all sites for Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day.
Cabins and Teepees require a 2 night minimum stay year round.

3. How far is it to the hike in sites :
The sites are about a half mile from the parking area. About a 10 to 15 minute hike. Gear and firewood delivery is available for sites R-0 through R-9. R-10 and R-11 are a 15 minute hike. R-12 is 1 to 1-1/2 hour hike to the site. Gear delivery is not available for sites R-10, R-11, R-12.
Gear delivery fee is $25 for a 3' x 3' x 3' cube

4. Is there a bathroom at the hike in sites :
There are eco-friendly toilets in the R-0 through R-9 area. They are closest to R-2. R-10 and R-11 have a shared outhouse. Guests staying at R-12 are expected to carry out their waste and trash. The showers are located near the parking area.

5. Do you offer a military discount:
All military members with valid military ID will receive a free bundle of firewood upon arrival.

6. Do you have sites on the river:
We have hike in sites near the stream and pond. We are located about 4 miles from the New River.

7. Are bikes, ATVs, 4 wheel drive vehicles allowed on trails:
The trails are for hiking only, Bikes or vehicles are not allowed on the trails.
Bikes are allowed on our campground roads.

8. Is there fishing on the property:
We have a stocked trout pond on the property. It is located about 1/2 mile from the main camp area, about a 10 minute hike. The cost to fish is $10 to fish (includes the first fish) and $8 for each additional fish. NO CATCH AND

RELEASE.
Do the tent sites have power:
Power is available at the Bath House. T-14 and T-15 do have power. In addition several of the C sites are great for tent camping and all have power. (bring extension cord) If you are a tent camper requiring power at your site, you can call 828-406-4226 for information.

Do you close the gates:
We do not close the gates and you are welcome to come and go as you please. Please be respectful of other campers if you are coming in after dark. Please don't shine your headlights on other campers. Quite time is 11:00 pm to 8;00 am. Check in are not allowed during Quite Time.

4 wheel drive is recommended and often necessary during the winter months.
